Wolfgang Hahner: Fine Art Photography
Wolfgang Hahner is an Internet pioneer. He created a number of first-of-kind virtual reality applications for companies like Silicon Graphics and Sun Microsystems before specializing in photography and simulation design for the medical device industry. His fine art photography is in the same visual tradition as Wim Wenders, Werner Hertzog, and other European artists who have been fascinated by the tragic and sometimes twisted results of the American dream. Hahner uses a critical and distant eye to fashion large-scale neo-romantic images where everything looks in order, especially the things that are out of order.
Hahner was born in Germany and grew up near Stuttgart. He is a classically trained photographer. He received a BFA from the Fachhochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd. After college, Hahner spent two years in England where he attended the University of the Arts, Central St Martins College of Art and Design in London, and received a Master's degree with distinction.
Hahner currently lives and works in an old barn in the Santa Cruz mountains.
